Net zoals in het eerste boek leek het begin mij een beetje lang， vooral dat het opnieuw hetzelfde vertelde maar vanuit het oogpunt van een andere zus。 Gelukkig is het verhaal van Ally， de tweede zus， daarna helemaal anders。 Alweer wordt haar verhaal met dat van iemand uit het verleden verweven en is het nieuwsgierig afwachten naar wat de zus zal vinden dankzij de aanwijzingen van hun overleden adoptievader。

At last I’m through with this second instalment in the series。 I’m sad to say that this one disappointed me nearly as much as the previous instalment surprised me。I liked the reference to part of Europe’s history that isn’t well known to me and the references to the previous book weren’t too obvious nor too many that they become annoying。 On the other hand， the cheesy dramatic love stories of Ally and Theo felt too Arlequin books for me and， maybe because I’m in a different frame of mind now tha At last I’m through with this second instalment in the series。 I’m sad to say that this one disappointed me nearly as much as the previous instalment surprised me。I liked the reference to part of Europe’s history that isn’t well known to me and the references to the previous book weren’t too obvious nor too many that they become annoying。 On the other hand， the cheesy dramatic love stories of Ally and Theo felt too Arlequin books for me and， maybe because I’m in a different frame of mind now than when I read the first book， the fact that Pa Salt seems to have picked kids that are descendants of famous people left me uneasy， especially the fact that he chose to split twins to get a daughter。 I sure hope that one day his story will be told。 It also irked me that the annoying Carine was calling Pip “Chérie” as that spelling is for female。 I know that character had to be in but she seemed to not fit in the story and be a bloody spoiled brat。Overall， apart from the above mentioned issues， this was a very interesting book in regards to the history it contains。 。。。more

Esta entrega ha seguido en la misma línea que la primera de la saga aunque esta vez la historia de Anna ha destacado sobre la de Ally。 Anna me ha gustado mucho， por su inocencia y fortaleza。 Lo que le ocurre a Ally en cambio， aunque predecible， podría haberse presentado de una manera más adictiva， como en la historia de Maia。 Eso sí， deja más misterio en torno a Pa Salt， así que invita a seguir leyendo。。。
